As cups of coffee go, Jason Coyle is forever grateful he sat down for one with a Queensland pathologist intent on having his horse trained in Sydney.
Brisbane pathologist Dr Jason Gluch, the sole owner of Carrington Stakes hopeful Scream Machine, said: "I think he had two or three runners that day [at Rosehill] and he still had time to come out and have coffee with a Comprar Levitra bloke from Queensland who comes down and says, 'I've got a horse not worth much and do you want it?' He seemed like the right guy to trust and communicate with and it's been a very profitable experience.
"My guy was never going to be a two year old and he looked like a miler or 2000 metre horse. Jason had a pretty good handle on those types of horses and he [Scream Machine] needed a bit more love and care than maybe going to a bigger stable."
So profitable, in fact, that a $13,000 Magic Millions yearling is on the verge of crashing through the $600,000 prizemoney barrier and that's with nothing more than a Wagga Cup win at listed level in the category of stakes successes.
Not that Dr Gluch is that perturbed. He liked Scream Machine as a yearling on pedigree, with a little push from a co worker at the time.
He remembers a horse running around Brisbane in the early 1990s by the name of Ben Rumson, whom he Oral Steroids Risks bought into through a syndicate as a university student nearing graduation. He reasons it won "about $80,000 or $90,000, which was good money back then".
"That's going back a long, long time and I've had lots of slow ones [since]," he joked. "It's been a long time between drinks."
But nothing like the group 1 path Scream Machine has trod and is heading down again as Coyle uses the listed Carrington Stakes at Randwick as a springboard to a possible Chipping Norton tilt at Warwick Farm next month.
"It's enjoyable to have a horse like him in the stable and you've got to at least have a Saturday class horse who can be competitive in stronger races throughout the carnival," Coyle said.
"He's been a pleasure to have in the stable, that's for sure, and the owner has enjoyed it. If you can have five or six of them, then every 12 months would be a good 12 months. For what was going to be a short prep, the way he's doing in the stable and if "Anadrol 50" he continues to do "Achat Anabolisant Belgique" well we'll keep going on that [Chipping Norton] path."
The path was only ever meant to include the Villiers Stakes this campaign. After flashing home for fifth in the feature of the Sydney summer, Scream Machine's campaign has now stretched into the new year.
And now Coyle and Dr Gluch are asking themselves if the six year old can "Oxandrolone Powder India" reach Masteron Female Dosage the heights of his Brisbane winter form when he was beaten less than two lengths in the group 1 Doomben 10,000.
Asked whether that effort had sharpened his focus on catching his rivals on the hop in a group 1 early in a carnival preparation, Coyle said: "I don't think he's a genuine group 1 performer and I probably think he's more at that group 2 or group 3 level.
"The fact is on his day he can probably perform like a group 1 horse. Once again if "4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone Ireland" things all fell into place on the right day in the run . then he's definitely got that raw ability there to win one of those races. He's a horse that needs a helluva lot of things to go his way to win a race, but when it does he's very, very good."
But for starters Coyle will need to see a promising showing in the listed Carrington Stakes, run over 1400 metres this year rather than the traditional 1100 metres to accommodate its inclusion in Sydney's summer sprint series.
Scream Machine, with Tommy Berry replacing the suspended Tye Angland, was listed at $9.50 with Ladbrokes Proviron While On Trt in their Carrington Stakes market on Thursday evening. Impressive last start winner She's Clean was a $3.90 favourite in an open race.
